Family Ministry at Grace Baptist Church

Imagine for just a moment what it would be like if your family answered the call to be what God wants it to be. What would it look like? Well, for starters children would honor and respect their parents! But it wouldn’t stop there—God’s Word has so much more to say about families. Imagine the parents being the primary spiritual leaders of the home. Imagine healthy marriages. Imagine siblings that actually get along with one another and pray for one another! Imagine a family committed to bringing glory and honor to God in their neighborhood—a family that the rest of the neighbors viewed as a place of support and prayer. Imagine a family that was together more than they are apart—one that actually eats a meal together and prays together. Impossible? No, with God all things are possible. This is just a glimpse of what God wants your family to be, and we at Grace are committed to helping your family fulfill it’s call!

So, What’s So Different?
The vision that God has given us is not new—it’s just very Bible-centered. Many churches today present children’s and student ministries that have entirely separate goals. We do not believe that it is healthy in any way to have the various ministries of our church all trying to do their own thing to the detriment of your family. We believe that it is our calling as a church to guide you in order that your family can grow spiritually. As a part of our body of believers your family will grow spiritually as a whole!

The Question: What does God’s Word say a family should look like? 
     Parents are being the primary ministers to their children.
     Families are having family worship.
     Fathers are actively leading the family.
     Families are evangelized and discipled.
     Children are submitting to their parents and looking to them for guidance.
     Families are growing in Christ together. 
     Families are ministering together.
     Siblings are relating to one another in a godly way.

With this vision for family ministry in mind, how do we get there?

          Small group Bible studies that equip you to parent

Evangelizing 
     Teaching parents how to evangelize their children
     Reaching out to new families in our area
     Focusing your family on doing evangelism together where you live and on various other mission fields

Teaching the Bible to parents and children
     God-centered, biblical Sunday School lessons
     Women’s Ministries
     Wednesday night teaching ministries
     Dynamic, God-centered sermons
